 ABOUT ME
Just your average, everyday, struggling Hollywood screenwriter, web producer, entrepreneur, and gadabout, surfing over, around and through the trials and tribulations of Life, the Universe and Everything. Oh. I'm also the Evil Genius behind this place. Ok, I didn't do it alone. But I made my partners suffer to make my machinations real. Resistance is futile...

Good morning Jody. It's currently Sunday am at about 1:50. I just have to say one thing so far and that is - Denise Crosby has a personal message to all on DoorQ.com - and that is "HI!!!" and that she's insanely excited to be involved with Phase II's new production. I will report more....after I sober up of course. ;)

xxoot

NEWS: So just how gay is TWILIGHT going to get, anyway?

Photobucket

Academy Award winning writer-director Bill Condon is close to helming THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN parts 1&2. If Condon's name rings a bell, it's because he's the mastermind behind such recent hit musicals as DREAM GIRLS and CHICAGO.  So is LionsgateSummit, the production company behind the hit movie franchise,  looking to bring a big, Act Two musical production number of "Naked Werewolves in Love" to the shenanigans of the next film? Probably not, though I'm certain that many of you are already envisioning the blocking even as I write this.

In truth, Summit is pursuing a "name" director like Condon in order to give the last two films in the series some cred, a standing on par with the HARRY POTTER films and their history of using some pretty prestigious directors to bring Hogwarts to life.  I'm thinking there's also an effort to break the movie out of its fangirl/fangay  niche and entice more people into the fold. Condon seems like a good choice to do this.

Why? Besides his musical roots, Condon is also a longtime genre buff. He's written and directed SF films like STRANGE INVADERS and horror films like CANDYMAN 2: FAREWELL TO THE FLESH. He's also the creative force behind GODS AND MONSTERS, the Academy Award winning film about gay director James Whale.

I met Condon when GODS premiered at Sundance, lo those years ago. He's an openly gay writer-director, smart, funny and genre fan. He's a doorQ -- at least in my opinion -- so he'll do a good job. The big question, if he signs, is even this quite talented individual can make a real something out of the consistent mess of the TWILIGHT films. They are full of eye-candy, but both films have bored me to bore a hole in the side of my head with a drill. And yes, many of the SyFy Saturday night movies do have more life than these flicks, if not any better writing.

Bill, if you get the gig, I'm looking at you to put a shine on shite.
