 INTERESTS
GeneralAh LUVS my sci fi/horror/fantasy/action-adventure/mystery genres, but I enjoy pretty much every type of film or show... In other words, an awful LOT! Not to say that I'm not highly opinionated about it all, though - just ask my husband, Victor! But, some random facts about me: I am HORRIFICALLY aracnopohobic (Especially of tarantulas. If I see a critter with hair and MORE than 4 legs, I run and scream like a 3-year-old girl!). I've got a powerful fascination with cryptozoology - Sasquatch and the Loch Ness Monster. I actually DO believe they exist, and would love to see definitive proof of it someday. Think I saw too many episodes of "In Search Of..." when I was a little kid. And finally... My first and deepest love is trains and railroads. I've taken excursions on several short-line steam-powered railroads, and had several model train layouts. The first thing I ever wanted to be was the engineer of a big steam locomotive chugging across the countryside. Come to think of it, I STILL wanna do that...
MusicI'm a lifelong fan of the greatest American singer/songwriter ever: Johnny Cash. And I love movie soundtracks - I've got quite an extensive library of 'em. John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, and Danny Elfman are my gods (but there's plenty others, like James Horner, David Arnold...). Musicals! Yep, I'm a show tunes queen. For God's sake, I was a theater major, what'd you expect? And I like a wide variety of pop & rock music - anything from the 70's 'til today. Some random faves are Coldplay, Goo Goo Dolls, Pet Shop Boys, Annie Lennox, Elton John, Thompson Twins, Carly Simon, Robbie Williams, Rufus Wainwright, Phil Collins... And lots more.
MoviesSTAR WARS TRILOGY (The original, not the Prequels or CLONE WARS); INDIANA JONES series; STAR TREK series; JAMES BOND series; E.T.; LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy; EDWARD SCISSORHANDS; THE ADVENTURS OF BARON MUNCHAUSEN; THE UNTOUCHABLES; JURASSIC PARK and THE LOST WORLD; JAWS and JAWS 2; POPEYE (1980 Robin Williams film)... Also love horror from the classics - Universal Studios Classics of DRACULA, FRANKENSTEIN, & THE WOLF MAN to their Hammer incarnations to the present day - to modern-day stuff like HALLOWEEN & SILENCE OF THE LAMBS & POLTERGEIST & SLEEPY HOLLOW. And super hero films like SUPERMAN; SUPERMAN II; SUPERMAN RETURNS; the Tim Burton BATMAN films; the SPIDERMAN series, X-MEN and X-MEN 2; and BATMAN BEGINS. But I love pretty much EVERY genre of movie - drama, romance, mystery, action-adventure thrillers, westerns... As a rule, though, I do NOT like remakes - they're often little more than crappy, uninspired cash-ins on the far superior original.
TV ShowsSTAR TREK (The Original Series and TNG and now NEW VOYAGES/PHASE II); THE X-FILES; BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER; DEXTER; THE SOPRANOS; TRUE BLOOD; SIX FEET UNDER; SCRUBS; BATMAN - THE ANIMATED SERIES; ROBOTECH; HEROES (...although this 3rd season is really trying my patience...); DOCTOR WHO (both the original series and the reboot); TORCHWOOD; GHOST HUNTERS and GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL; UFO HUNTERS; MONSTERQUEST; PARANORMAL STATE; EXTREME TRAINS; RAMSAY'S KITCHEN NIGHTMARES; and HELL'S KITCHEN
BooksMost anything by Larry McMurtry; NEVERWHERE, by Neil Gaiman; Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot mysteries; Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories; horror anthologies; Ray Bradbury; comic books galore; pretty much ANYTHING with vampires in it; and books based on my favorite film & television series - STAR WARS, STAR TREK, JAMES BOND (the Fleming originals, John Gardner's books, and Ray Benson's); a good mystery novel; and historical narratives

 ABOUT ME
Happily partnered to Victor, my husband of 12 years. I'm working as a paralegal, but my true aspirations and formal education in college was in the theater. Yep, I went to school to be an actor(Professionally trained in acting for stage and screen at Point Park College). I've been in countless theatrical productions and had roles in several films - small roles in big movies and medium-to-large roles in small movies. If you'd like to know what which shows & films I've been in, please feel free to ask. I moved to NYC for a year to pursue it, then moved back home where I met Vic. The rest, as they say, is history: We've got a nice house in the suburbs and one son - our 6-year-old yellow lab, Dudley. I recently snagged an upcoming role in a locally produced web series about vampires. And I'm VERY happy to have serendipitously discovered Doorq.com! I've been looking for a gay-oriented genre website, and it's good to be among friends.
