| NEWS: Another reason I want to make mad, monkey love to Daniel Radcliffe |

Here's yet another reason Daniel Radcliffe is so damn hot: the HARRY POTTER star is a big supporter of gay rights, including the Trevor Project, the 24-hour help-line for gay and questioning GLBT teens. He sat down with MTV to explain his comfort with gay men and his desire to make sure gay teens get have resources to help them come out. If it wasn't for this pesky restraining order that keeps me 500 feet from him (and Taylor Lautner, Karl Urban, Jensen Ackles and Betty White) I'd race right up to him and show him exactly how I feel. |

| NEWS: Oooooh. That's what happened to FINAL DESTINATION's Devon Sawa |

Remember Devon Sawa, one of those Zac Efron-esque teen / twenty heart-throbs of the 90s? Oh, come on. I know you do. Angelic as kid and Michelangelo like in his early 20s, Sawa made several fun but forgetable genre movies, including IDLE HANDS and FINAL DESTINATION. I know you remember FD. Lots of blood, decapitations and cute guys. Dying. Sawa was headed for stardom -- and then he kind of dropped off the scene. Lots of rumors about Hollywood Life. Looked terrible in a string of direct-to-video genre films. Like his looks, his career was pretty much over.
I seem to have been wrong.
I clicked into NCIS: LOS ANGELES the other day (I had nothing better to do) and was relieved to see that the show was just as much the excrement I thought it would be. Who had the bright idea to cast Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J -- two actors with enough star-power between them to power a solar calculator -- in a prime time TV show? (Obviously someone smart. It's one of the top new shows of the season -- Editor.) Popping up in a bit part, there was Sawa. And he looked good. Good enough for me to go looking for some new pics of him -- and thinking he must have found a gym that worked for him. He's studly again and doesn't look like a male version of Courtney Love. Does this mean he's back on his game? Well, CREATURE OF DARKNESS, his latest, has just gotten a direct-to-DVD / soon-to-be-on SyFy trailer. But I won't hold that against him. After all, I like to think that popping pecs are a promise of a good pic.
Sawa, circa 2000.

| GAMES: Another reason why shirtless hunks are hot |

Curiously, one of the adultish apps not targeted for removal was Grindr, the pocket dating device showing how far you are from someone who might like to come closer and get to know you better.
Gizmodo pointed out a bit of a double standard here, noting that busty galls were getting the heave-ho while buff boys were left sans shirt. My only response is "yeah?" Give me a double standard that allows us to get to the front of the line. I like me a double standard that allows me to come out on top.. In any event, there's some movement on Apple's part to create an 'explicit' category for the App Store, though some more recent reporting says this is still a ways-a-way. I wonder if this means that Bel Ami will develop a phone-app? Anything that brings me closer to Sebastian Bonnet is a good thing.

| TALKBACK: Your doorQtastic underwear |
Companies like Ginch Gonch tout this kind of stuff as "Super Hero" underwear, but I laugh at their silly marketing. It's not real super undies or space faring briefs or magical stuff stuffers. No, see it takes a real doorQ to wear the real stuff.
Take our doorQ correspondent Scion, who keeps Luke close to his lightsaber, ready to defend and defeat the forces of evil. But what are you wearing, underneath, keeping you close, secure and heroic all day?
Post a pic in the comments -- you can paste a Photobucket link right in or point back to your profile photogallery -- or you can send your pics to Our Fearless Leader at Jody@doorQ.com and he can update my post.
Let us know your bits of heroic wear. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. |

| NEWS: Uncle Orson Writes a Homo for EA Games Adaptation |

We've noted Card's antics -- and his incredulity -- before: How he gets upset when he gets called out on his hatred. He wonders why anyone would be upset that he sits on the board of NOM, Maggie Gallagher's anti-gay The National Organization of Marriage (see the comic takedown of her below) or why it's perfectly rational that laws against homosexuality should remain on the books.
That's all great preparation to write about us.
DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS isn't just a gay game, but it is one of the first mainstream games to include strong GLB characters as part of the narrative -- and possible love interests. One of those central characters is Zevran, the omnisexual elf assassin who flirts with the player over the course of the game and finally fucks with the main character if romanced the right way. And Zevran is only one of the gay options in the game. There are several others scattered about, some more or less incidental to the story. The point, though, is that the game itself is all over the homolove. Card isn't. It's pretty right to ask if any of this is going to make it through to the comic adaptation.
Gay blogger Heroes N Hunks suggests writing / calling / emailing over to Electronic Arts -- the owner of BioWare and the people who hired Uncle Orson for the adaptation -- and letting them know how displeased folks are with this choice. It's one thing for a writer to be personally against a particular group or idea; it's quite another for a writer to actively campaign not only against the continued securitization of our rights but to work towards repealing what advances we've already made.
We buy games. We should let EA know that this wasn't the best idea if they want us to buy their adapted comics.
EA's main information is at:
209 Redwood Shores Parkway Redwood City, CA 94065 USA Phn: 650-628-1500 Fax: 650-628-1422 http://www.ea.com
They seem to be a bit stingy on the email addresses. I did find a listing though for Marci Galea, the company wide talent manager at mgalea@ea.com. If that gives us any insight into the email structure of the company, John Riccitiello, the CEO of Electronic Arts, should be at jriccitiello@ea.com. No promises that won't disappear into a black hole, so you might want to make a call to their phone line and follow up with an email.

| PREVIEWS: Men in dresses! Men in dresses! |
The international CLASH OF THE TITANS trailer is out, with more sword wielding, monster mashing goodness. Sam Worthington's Perseus squares off with Liam Neeson's Zeus over the fate of humanity. Along the way, he's tormented by Hades, Medussa and that pesky Kraken. Gods are always bitchy, evil and vile -- like me on a Monday. Take a look: |
