On November 21, 2009, “Denizen: Special Access J.A. Steel” will be honored by the Nevada Film Festival with a Silver Screen award in the Short Film Competition. The short was filmed during the post production of the “Denizen” feature, with director J.A. Steel and editor Wayne Rawley.
“Denizen” is the story of a group of scientists that must destroy a creature that is terrorizing a small town. The film stars Julie Corgill-Lisandro, Glen Jensen, Ben Bayless, Jody Mullins and introduces Dianne Sullivan in her first film role. “Special Access” gives a glimpse into the life of the first female action director who does her own stunts and has directed low budget indie favorites, “The Third Society” and “Salvation.”
The Nevada Film Festival honors excellence in filmmaking and will be held at the Rampart Casino co-located with the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort. “Special Access” director Jessica M. Bair will accept the award, with J.A. Steel being in attendance, on Saturday the 21st.
