First the good news: Uber-writing-god Neil Gaiman, creator of "The Sandman" comic books, the CORALINE movie and film and the equally fantastic "American Gods" novel, is penning an episode for Steven Moffat's DOCTOR WHO series.
Now, the bad news: It won't air for 14 months. It's part of Season Six of the long running series.
He writes on his blog:
"As anyone who's read my blog knows, I'm a big fan of a certain long-running British SF TV series," Gaiman told the publication. "One that [I] started watching -- from behind the sofa -- when I was three. And while I know it's cruel to make you wait for things, in about 14 months from now -- which is to say not the upcoming season, but early in the one after that -- it's quite possible that I might have written an episode. And if I had, it would originally have been called, 'The House of Nothing,' but it definitely isn't called that any more."
I say "bad," but that's only in terms of wanting to see the episode. Right now. In terms of DOCTOR WHO itself, it's great news, as there's a lot to look forward to this year and next.
