| TALKBACK: Are you going to watch the world end? |

Headed out to see 2012 this weekend? I'm curious to know what you think of gay-director Roland Emmerich's latest movie, about the Mayan "predicted" end-of-the-world. MTV has a rather lackluster review of the film, as does Syfy. As these are both companies that produce bad reality television, they might be just familiar enough with crap to warrant considering their thoughts.
Still, I'm expecting 2012 to be big, dumb fun. What say you? What are your thoughts about the film? |

Awwwwwww, c'mon, it looks like the most hilarious comedy in ages!
Um, wait a minute. It's not SUPPOSED to be a comedy? Hrm. And I laughed so hysterically at the special little clip the premeired on television...

With that trailer? It promises to be absolute torture! I'm not going anywhere within 10 miles of a theater showing it...

Sadly, the best parts of the movie are the commercials. perhaps Mr Emmerich should do those instead. If all he can produce is 45 second bursts of greatness (that's far better than most can do) he would serve us all better doing that. Or maybe the end-of-the-world genre gives us a better story when its character not CGI driven. Maybe that's why I'm a writer and not a director. But John Cusack? Seriously? He hasn't moved anyone since Say Anything, why can't he get mercury poisoning and man-boobs, at least he'd be interesting then.
