Keep The Videos Alive: To The Theater

TALKBACK: Great Hera! They are Remaking Fright Night!

Fright Night is getting a make-over.

"Mad Men" writer-producer Marti Noxon has been hired to pen DreamWorks Studios' revamp of the 1985 horror comedy "Fright Night." Before her work on AMC's "Mad Men," Noxon was a writer-producer on the bloodsucker series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," so fangs and stakes are in her blood.

Producers Michael De Luca, Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig set up the "Fright" project in May. DreamWorks executive Mark Sourian is overseeing for the studio.

Really? Why? Fright Night is a classic and should remain untouched.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

It could be a great remake - but it gets tiring just seeing the same old concepts brushed off again. Don't get me wrong, BSG ROCKED (um - until the last 5 minutes). And I'm giving V a chance. But what is so wrong with brand NEW concepts. My partner has a treatment for a series - he started it a few years back and has someone shopping it around for the past two years - lots of nice nibbles, but no bites.

Vampires, built in fan base, allows for reissuing of original movie in BLU-Ray.

It may suck, but it's a studio execs' dream film...

Of all the movies to remake.... why this one? I liked it ok but just don't really think it needs a remake. Apparently someone else does.
