WHAT DO YOU THINK?: Trailer for the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

Freddie's back.

The new trailer for the Michael Bay produced THE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET has hit the net.

Staring Jackie Earle Haley as the evil child molester, looks like this time out we get an origin story, lots of trying to stay awake, more Thomas Dekker acting butch, and those long, sharp fingernails looking to destroy the innocent.

What do you think?

I like! Given his amazing performance as Rorschach in "Watchmen", I think Jackie Earle Haley is an excellent choice for Freddy. As you said, looks like we're getting a backstory in this one. A little added character depth and a lot less of the camp that some of the later movies had in its original boot could make this a stand-out.

As for Thomas Dekker's involvement...meh. He's pretty and all. I mean, I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eatin' crackers on the sheets, but I just don't find him to be a very compelling actor.

But who cares? I'll be going to see Freddy, not the earnest-teen-fodder.
